a happy

holiday
I'm not necessarily a
Christmasy person,
But i do love giving gifts
I painted this piece for
my moms christmas present
It's topped with bubbled ink after adding a texture to the canvas.

for 3 days
straight
but it was 100% worth it

Thomaston has gotten
more colorful
the past few years-
and one project has especially livened up the town
The painted fire hydrant project encourages
the local artists in the area-
between the exposure and the community support

for my 23rd birthday
I got a pottery course.
It was the best gift i’ve ever gotten,
as far as life altering status.
me and my mom had taken a pottery class while I was in high school- but didn’t pick up much.
my mom restarted taking lessons around 2020(?)-
from an angel of a woman- Maryann Hughes who magically lived only 10 minutes away.
when I started classes with her- it was insane -
she was able to coach me through the process so well I was shocked I actually was managing to throw something for once.
and then I did it again, and again, and again. :-)
ive been a painter my entire life, & have dabbled in various mediums
- but pottery -
the ability to create and sculpt
the images I have in my head,
its astounding.
first market ever.

the lazy j
hosted their first
junk love market.
I launched my Technicolor Thomaston cards there,
it went so well it encouraged me to keep going.
the local support was honestly overwhelming,
sometimes its hard not to get scared
I can’t be successful with a career as an artist,
but the community that surrounds me brings so
much joy and confidence into the equation,
it makes me brave.
im forever thankful for the love of my hometown.

in all small towns there are opinions on everything.
one thing that remains true across the board-
a handwritten
card is
always the
right
answer.
this was my first big investment in product to sell,
and they were really popular :-)

the first time I saw my art printed onto something
other than a canvas, was honestly,
pretty magical

the beginning
of it all
Thomaston and my life changed for the better with
the opening of the coolest store in town
the Lazy J MERCANTILE
-322 N Church ST., Thomaston GA, 30286-
I think what every artist waits for,
is big break.
A chance to get out there and
be seen.
lazy j gave me that opportunity
and more.
the real world experience
i’ve earned owning a booth,
selling my art.
and being mentored
by the incredible owner, Tori Joyce,
and the vast array of vendors-
is irreplaceable .
